LEs benefit from awareness seminar in Myanmar

The publishing department in Myanmar has been blessed with up-to-date information and methodologies in proclaiming the good news of salvation through the printed page. This has been the objectives of the leadership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Myanmar (MYUM) to equip the literature evangelists (LE) in this predominantly Buddhist country.
To reach these objectives, MYUM organized a publishing awareness seminar, June 4-6, at its headquarters in Yangon. This was attended by 27 delegates from all over Myanmar. Pastor Florante P. Ty, president of Philippines Publishing House and a long-time publishing director, was the presenter who dynamically challenged the LEs to perform their tasks as God’s ordained ministers of the printed page.
“We hope to place a literature evangelist in every church,” said Pastor Ty. “We enjoin our church members to become LEs so that we can finish God’s work sooner.”
Commenting on Pastor Ty’s challenge, participants were heard to say, “While this challenge is great, we will try our very best to get as much participation from our church members to get involved in this ministry.”
“We hope to have seminars like this more often in Myanmar to promote and encourage our LEs to take to heart their role in the proclamation of the gospel,” concluded Pastor Thang Lian Khai, MYUM publishing ministry director. [Myo Chan]
