Adventist students have once again demonstrated exceptional performance in the 2024 Physician Licensure Examination. Christopher Niño Duane Mendoza, a graduate of Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine, secured the top spot with an impressive rating of 89.24 percent. Additionally, Prestine Shealtiel Avellona Subido from St. Luke's College of Medicine-WHQM claimed the 8th rank with a notable score of 87.08 percent. Mary Angelie Cabañez from West Visayas State University-La Paz secured the 9th place with 87 percent, while Elica Yem Arcilla from Bicol University-Daraga clinched the 10th spot with an outstanding rating of 86.92 percent. These results highlight the continued success of Adventist students in the field of medicine.

"I find my motivation in the understanding that this profession transcends mere career aspirations; it's a chance to serve in the Lord's vineyard," Mendoza shared. "My earnest prayer is that from this journey, I can ignite hope in future aspirants, showing them the transformative power of prayer and the remarkable feats God can accomplish in our lives," Mendoza concluded.

In April 2024, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in the Philippines announced the outcomes of the Physicians Licensure Examination that the Board of Medicine had administered in a number of testing locations, including Metro Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga. Out of 3,434 examinees, 1,906 have successfully passed the examination.

The Adventist Church in the Philippines extends its congratulations to the 48 graduates of the Adventist University of the Philippines who have demonstrated excellence by successfully passing the recent Physician Licensure Examination. Their remarkable achievement contributed to an impressive overall performance rate of 77.08 percent, placing the university among the top performers among 57 schools.

Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso, Director of Health Ministries for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, expresses heartfelt appreciation for the diligent efforts of all examinees who dedicated themselves to rigorous preparations. “Their unwavering commitment and perseverance have culminated in the realization of their cherished goal, which is to obtain their license to practice medicine,” Dr. Alfanoso said.
